I have been a therapist for over half of my life, and I absolutely love my job! Providing a safe environment for true healing is my calling. I can’t wait to hear your story and work with you on building a life of wellness and growth.

My Background

Sandra Wellman, M.S. LPC, has been a practicing therapist for more than 30 years. She spent 16 years at Youth Services in Shawnee, Okla., as therapist/supervisor. While there, she co-developed a peer-counseling program, a therapeutic summer program, received training in trauma, began teaching a divorcing seminar and presented workshops both
locally and nationally.

In 2001 she became the clinical director of Bethesda Inc. in Norman, OK. She is national certified in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Progressive Counting, TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) and IFS (Internal Family Systems). At Bethesda, Sandra brought her knowledge of therapeutic summer camps to develop 4 camps for Bethesda, Dragonfly, Phoenix, Braveheart and Gryphon. She continues to counsel kids and adults and train professionals in trauma work specific to healing from sexual abuse, other traumas and other adverse events. She wrote Stop, Go N Tell in 2002 which became the education program at Bethesda that reaches over 20,000 students each year. Sandra is also a co-owner of L.I.F.E. Unlimited where she teaches a divorce recovery seminar, Divorcing Well for the Sake of the Children since 1995.

My Mission

Outside of work, Sandra has directed discipleship/leadership groups for many young people and taught “Soulful Healing” for those seeking deeper healing. She loves volunteering at her church and Sunday worship is her favorite. Other than her love for being a grandmother, wife and mother, she believes her greatest rewards in life comes from helping children and adults heal and grow. Her dream in life is to truly change the world, one person at a time.
